The new formal garden, courtyard, wild flower orchard and parkland for this new country house sit alongside a reinstated historic terraced pleasure gardens and canal pond.
The scheme is designed to integrate the new house and drive into its rural setting adjoining the historic garden and a grade 1 listed tithe barn. The garden design creates a strong sense of unity with the Arts and Crafts Jacobean-style of house, making use of period details, materials and planting characteristic of the north Cotswolds.
The site previously occupied an unpromising agricultural and horticultural setting. P+W were involved from the start, firstly by developing the design concept with client, architect and conservation officer, helping to gain planning approvals and then following through with the detailed design work and on-site supervision.
